The multi-storied Si Montalcino Hotel (air-conditioned; served by an elevator; on-site parking) is located up on the hillside at the quiet south end of the quaint hill-top town Montalcino, the center of the Brunello Wine Country. It is only a short 5 minute/1 mile drive from the hotel to the Parcheggio Piazzale Fortezza (free after 20:00 hours), close to the town's center. Our nice & clean room faced the hill, the french door opens to a small, walled and private terrace which we took advantage of. The bed was comfortable, the spacious bathroom was clean and offered an awesome view of the country side. The excellent breakfast with myriad choices will satisfy everyone. We extend special thanks to the staff at the reception desk who checked us in quickly and with a smile, then spent a great deal of time not only to point out restaurants which best would meet our expectations, but also to make the reservation for us. This was not expected, but very much appreciated since the hotel's restaurant was closed because of lack of staffing. We enjoyed an al fresco dinner at the Osteria di Porta al Cassero at tables set up in Via Ricasoli, only 150 ft/46 m distant from the Parcheggio Piazzale Fortezza.

Hotel is spacious, rooms are very comfortable, perfectly clean and the staff will assist you with whatever you need. We received lots of advice about the area, suggestions where to eat and even encouragement to try some of the local delicacies. Breakfast was exceptional- we never needed lunch, and because we were checking out really early, the staff gave us a “take-out” breakfast for the journey. The hotel is perfectly located to visit all of the “tourist” Tuscan towns. But in my opinion don’t do it! We loved Montalcino (we walked from the hotel but it’s a steep climb on the way back). We also went to Bagno Vinoni an ancient hot springs, and great visit, and the Abbey of Sant Antimo (free to visit with a cute monastery shop where you can buy herb liquors and other curiosities and we loved Buonconvento a real Tuscan town where people lived. We also visited Montelpuciano and San Gimignano (long drives and crawling with tourists like us, don’t do it! unless you like wall to wall shops and tour guides and gelateria).

Great location on the hillside just outside the town. Really beautiful property and the vegetation around the hotel is well managed. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, we felt well taken care of. They had a small lunch-menu with some caprese salad and cold-cuts with hams, salami and cheeses (all local from Tuscany) which was very delicious! The breakfast was good and everyone was sure to find something they liked (eggs, bacon, tomatoes, bread, pastries, cheeses, meats, jams etc) The cheese-selection was exceptional, local cheeses from the area that would cost a fortune at home were included in the breakfast. We had a room with a great view in to Tuscany, the room was facing the road but there were no issues with noise coming from the traffic.

the pool and the view is great. close to the Montalcino center, nevertheless to walk I think it's too far. about 35 mins walk per direction and hills. parking spaces are available. the restaurant is permanently closed. breakfast is nice but the staff feeled a little bit overwhelmed when asking for something, even though it was not full and busy at the time we where there. reception service is very good. they called for us the wineries and helped with reservations for the tastings and tours. we received recommendations when checking in and my result is the recommendations have been perfect 😊

The hotel is located on the hill due to which there is an absolutely stunning and breathtaking view, which can be admired from both the pool or a breakfast table. The breakfast was rich with a variety of both sweet and savory options. The room had a perfect size and the backyard garden was lovely. Also, you can walk to the centre of Montalcino and it takes no longer than 15 minutes, which gives you an amazing opportunity to taste a variety of local wines. Lastly, I would like to highlight the fact that there was a mosquito net, which was really appreciated.
